Are 16 valve heads interchangeable?

Heyo, it looks like I might be in the market for a head and was wondering if they're interchangeable. That would expand my chances of getting one greatly. Could I put a 850's 16v head on? Thanks!

all 850's have 8-valve heads.

all shaft gs bikes have 8-valve heads.

no exceptions.

How about some other head then? I know 1150s had 16v heads. Did any of the later 550s have em? Would those fit?

What year and size engine do you need a head for? I may have one for a pre-1983 TSCC 16v 750.

If you are talking about for your 750 I think you will have to stick to a pre '83 head. '83 and up 700 and 750 models had more compact engines. You need to stick to a 750 head so the squish area remains correct.
