    Regulator/Rectifier substitutions

I was looking for a R/R on E-Bay for my 1983 GS750ES and found several Suzuki with the same number of wires. The were different connectors, but they could be wired into mine. Do they all work with the same voltage and do the same thing. Seems to me if they all have 5 wires like mine I should be able to use any of them with a mod for the diggerent mounting and connector.

The honda regulators from the same erra 78-82 seem to be more reliable
The first thing you will see it they look the same, The Honda used a heaver gauge of wire

My GS850 is wearing a Reg/Rect from a Honda CM400, which I grabbed for $6 on eBay. Much better than the Suzuki part.

So, just to clarify, the 78-82 from a honda will fit an '83-85 Suzuki?
