what the heck happened
bike was running great even took it on a couple of 70 mile runs. came back after long weekend and bike runs like crap. Bike will not idle without throttle input and stumbles and never gets full power. I let bike warm up fully and problem did not go away. Bike has a new fuel petcock and nothing has changed except time between good running and now. Took fuel filter off and check gas flowTags: None

If you were riding a Hardley and said it runs like crap we could just laugh and say it was running normal... but alas your talking Suzuki here so please explain a little more. Have you checked the idle, did your 70 miles loosen junk in the tank and cause the carbs to get plugged up? What about some bad gas?

I am running an inline filter which should have prevented carb clogging I would think. bike will not idle without holding onto throttle and keeping rpms above 1000. while running bike will not accelerate and stumbles. bike has been running great since I changed petcock over a month ago. weird thing is bike was running great with no issues all last week to and from work. This morning I started bike and let idle which it did on choke for awhile. while riding bike ran rough on way to work . Parked bike for several hours and situation seems worse in regards to idle and power.

I'm going to assume that you put the new petcock on. Only thing I can think of then is that it sounds like its fuel starved. Did you use the same size fuel. If you used the old fuel line it could be possible that you have a hole in the vacuum line and its not opening the petcock diaphram all the way. Is a line kinked? If you were not using a filter before and added it could it be restricting the fuel flow? Did you put the filter on backwards? Dont laugh it happens. Check all this out and get back to us. We'll get it solved.

What the heck happened update
check fuel flow out fo petcock on prime get real good flow and during engine cranking on "fuel" getting flow also. Ensured fuel filter is properly installed and cleaned. I agree that the fuel is being restricted. Could the fuel line leading to carbs have pin holes or cracks that would allow air or decrease fuel flow? Any ideas would be helpful

Holes in the fuel line would leak gas out and you would see or smell it. Since we decided its not the fuel flow the the next step is to check the plugs as mentioned above. What color are they? Black sooty and wet? Your running rich. White or light grey and pitted with brown specks, your running lean. Nice even tan to light brown. Plugs are fine...
Whats your air filter looking like while your checking things?
Let us know.

I pulled the plugs and found them fouled. Once again you guys found the issue. did not know bikes were so sensitive. I think idling with choke for awhile fouled them, have run the bike all day without incident. thanks again for all the help
