    Master cylinder HELP!!

I have searched with no luck, here we go

I need a mastercylinder front for my 80 550e. I was looking for a rebuild kit, but could not find one for my specific bike. Anyone know where I can get one or what others will work?

    Thanks

For about $89 you can buy a whole new lever with a modern style master cyl from Dennis Kirk. That's probably the best solution.
    Currently bikeless
'81 GS 1100EX - "Peace, by superior fire power."
'06 FZ1000 - "What we are dealing with here, is a COMPLETE lack of respect for the law."

I ride, therefore I am.... constantly buying new tires.

Some good news - bike M/C's come in only two bore sizes: 5/8" and 14mm.

Step 1 - Look at your old one and the bore size should be cast into the body somewhere.

Step 2 - note which side of the M/C body the banjo fitting is on. It will be either the front face or inside face.

Step 3 - go to a salvage yard (or surf E-bay) and find any M/C that matches the bore size and banjo face location. Buy it.

Step 4 - replace the old M/C with the shiny new one. Enjoy.

Note that most of the GS's (maybe all) have the brake light switch in the M/C body and you will lose that when you swap. To solve this little detail, you need a pressure switch banjo bolt, available from Dennis Kirk, Baja Designs and others. This moves the brake light switch to the banjo and eliminates a crappy design from Suzuki in the bargain.

Good advise from Jethro, I bought the rebuild kit ( OEM ) $98AU , it's been fine for me, but your master cylinder could be scored .
        Why not start from new!
