    Original Paintwork query

I have recently bought a GS1000E 1979, although I am in the UK I know that the bike was imported from the US. I have started stripping the tank, and wish to restore it back to original colours. It appears that it was originally either a dark blue or a light/pastel blue. Can anyone point me in the direction of an internet link for pictures of the colour my bike might have been once! Any help appreciated. Thanks...Ken

Here's original "dark blue", almost a purplish hue.

That looks possible. Is it yours? Do you think the panels are original? Thanks for your help

My bike is what can be a "pastel/light blue". It's original paint, 1981 breed.

        Regards!

Yes, it's my bike, and the paint is original. About half the people that see it say it looks more purple than blue. It's definately darker than the pastelish color that cerm78 has on his bike.
