Hard to put in neutral
I recently bought an '83 1100 Kat and I can't get the touch to put it in neutral while I'm stopped and idle. If the motor doesn't turn it goes to every gear easely. No problem either if I'm still moving. My friend had an 88 Katana a couple of years ago and it did the same. Any suggestion to what I should expect and look to solve the problem. Thanks :?Tags: None

Play with your clutch cable adjustment. You need some free play, but basically as little as possible as long as it's fully released when the lever is out. This allows you to apply as much release pressure to the clutch arm as possible without affecting lockup.

Generaly it's easier to get it in to neutral before you stop, or often I'll go from 2nd to neutral.
But also make shure your clutch adjustment is spot on.
Use the right weight of oil ,and change it when you should do.

Your clutch cable is incorrectly adjusted.
