timing Light??? 77 GS750

I have a 77 GS750 with points. When I read the book it talks about using a timing light when I relace points. Is this something I need to do, to invest in?

Other than e-bay where can I find one or would some othewr tool serve this purpose?

I use a timing light & dwell meter on mine. Tools I have had for 30 years. but it is not necessary.

I gave up my timing light many years ago. If I need one I guess I can find on but I appreciate the sense that if I follow the instructions I very well may not need one.
