    Anyone added a voltmeter?

Has anyone out there wired up a permanent voltmeter to their bike? I see one on the Net for $57, but surely there should be a lower cost one available that would do the trick.

Yes I have a voltmeter mounted on my Vetter Windjammer fairing. It cost me $32can. I bought a 2inch diameter meter from an auto parts store, and cut the hole and it fits in tightly. I put it on while I was having lots of charging problems; now its just another dial. It looks good, and tells me thay the battry is in good shape. I ran a wire directly from the battery to the meter, and then a ground to the frame. It's on all the time but doesn't draw and current.

Sounds good.. I'll snatch up an auto voltmeter at Canadian Tire next time I cross the border (this weekend for Thanksgiving). My concern with an auto voltmeter was that it would not be water proof.

I have put the hose on mine, no problems.
