    Help - pilot mixture screw

On an 850 CV carb, does the pilot mixture screw control the amount of air into the pilot circuit, or the amount of air/fuel mixture? I'm experimenting with eliminating an over-rich condition on #4 at idle and not sure which way to adjust this screw.

    Thanks,
    Ace.

It adjusts the mixture of both. My understanding is that turning the screw out richens the mixture while turning in leans.

      Thanks Hoomgar - always appreciated.

That is consistent with name 'pilot mixture', but I didn't know for certain.

That is correct. It effectively richens the mix as you turn it out by adding a fatter mixture.

Make sure your #4 float isn't sinking and is set correctly. And eat your Wheaties.
