    Fork bushes CSX1100EX

I'm in the stages of renewing the seals & bushes in the forks of my
GSX1100EX (Australian model) & getting the inner forks hard chromed.
Listed in the Parts manual is the bottom split bushing on the inner fork
but there is no listing for the top solid one in the alloy outer slider.

I assume the top bush is removable probably with a bit of heat in the
oven but where do I get replacements?

    Any clues?

The top bushing comes out when you pull the forks apart (at least it did when I did my 82 1100E forks) as the lower bushing cannot fit through the upper one without interference.

I got my bushings from the dealer. Look harder at all the fork pieces, the upper bushing is in there somewhere.

      Thanks Mark.
I'm not too worried about getting them out (mine stayed in the leg).
I'm just trying to get a replacement without having t go to a machinist. They arn't listed as a separate part in the Parts fiche at http://www.mrcycles.com/.
I noticed that the 1983 SUZUKI GS1100E,ES uses the same seal part no & lists what could be the bush as a "METAL, SLIDE" [Part #: 51167-01D00 (replaces 51167-49500)] with a "WASHER" (Part #: 51158-49500) above it.

My model doesn't have the washer but I wonder if the "METAL SLIDE" is what I need?

      Any thoughts?

Yes, the "metal, slide" is the bushing. I have the bush and washer there. I looked in my Suzuki shop manual for the 81 1100 and the fork indeed doesn't show a separate bushing up top. I would bet that the 82-83 bush will work, since you say you have one and Suzuki are pretty good at keeping parts the same for long runs.
