    Tachometer output shaft oil leak GS 450 tx 82

    gs 450 Txz 82

    I am getting oil from my tach cable input to engine. Seems to be happening

    when I explore "hight revs" haha . Can anyone give me a solution . Bike is

    ridin about 20 miles a day. Has close to 30k. I for the most part ride at

    1/2 redline power. :P

    I get this too on my 450 txz. I have no idea what the problem is.

      Well, tell you what I did and it seemed to work pretty well. I used an oring from a kitchen sink put it in around the part that the cable links up with, just sit it in there. I then used teflon tape on the threads of the connection and put it together. Just my two pennies worth...

        I have been having this leak for a while. There is a seal here:



        (nbr23)That has likely failed (or possibly pt 24 too). Been meaing to get to it, but hadn't been able to just yet.

          Replace both seals in there and it will be fine.
