    Low RPM Performance S*cks

    Hello Follow GSers;

    Just thought I might pick your collective brains, for some solution to a recent problem.

    I own a '83-850 and a few months ago I noticed it was running really crappy when I'm in the low rpm. :?
    Bike starts right up, even when cold, never faulters there.
    But when I pull out in low gear, or anytime I'm running in low rpm's, it always sounds rough, and that it lacks power. put...put...putttt :?

    But when I crank the rpm's high, either to pass someone on the highway or take off fast from a traffic light , it has a great pull....Lots of power there. Feels goooood ..zzzipppp

    I used some carb cleaner, but no change.

    Any ideas ? Possible quick fixes ( or long fixes for that matter) ???

    Thanks for any advise.

    Sounds like it's time for a thorough carb clean and balance. PITA I know but sometimes quick and easy doesn't get it done. Plenty of info here in old posts re carb cleaning and there's even a step by step with photos. See the carb cleaning series link on the main page here.

          Plugs look reasonable.
          #3 plug look a little whiter than I'd like to see.
          Maybe a lean condition ?
