my Choke knob is stuck?
Has anyone had this problem where you can't pull up the choke knob? I ended up trying to fix it by unscrewing the little rubber/plastic thing under the knob, now I can't even screw it back. I sprayed some wd40 on it today and let it sit, but it didn't help. I'll check out Clymers tonight, but if anyone knows a quick fix....
thanks.Tags: None

The cable itself may need a lube.2010 Honda VFR1200F

i was shown the choke thing on the carbs, and when I pull it out all the way, the bike starts up amazingly faster in cold weather. so how would I be able to get rid of the choke knob and cable, and put a lever on the choke thingy on the carbs instead?

More than likely the metal rod that goes through the upper triple tree has some rust/junk in it. You did the right thing by unscrewing the platic piece underneath the chock knob. Just keep soaking it with penetrating oil and eventually (fingers crossed) it will come out.

I had this problem, had to replace the cable, and put some WD40 on the lever and the choke-ail, fixed the problem real well though and it is not really expensive to do this.
