Shocks from 650 to 450 OK?

The shocks on my 450 are too weak and I'm not willing to pay for NOS originals or Progressives. I found a set of very nice looking Showas off a 650 that I was thinking of getting. There's 34,000 miles on 'em. Would you think they've had it at that mileage, or still perfectly functional? I don't know what the life of a shock is.

Also, they ought to fit the 450 OK and be stiffer, yes?

The life of OEM shock's at that time was less than 20,000.
So DA I really think you should look elswere.......................Or lose 100kg's.............OOOH!................your guna get me for that !

I appreciate that info (well, some of it ). I need some that actually can hold up a 250 pound guy.

Poor little GS! How it suffers.

Good idea to be looking at shocks from the bigger bikes, though, right? To get something plenty stiff?

Yes, as long as it fit's.
I remember a friend of mine useing the shock's of my GT750 on his kwaka 650, he was very happy with them.
I put Koni's on the GT.
