    Degreeing cam

    Hi

    Is there anybody that have degreed the cams on a 8 valve GS with
    cams above buckets ?????

    I have looked at it,but can`t find any suitable tools to use.

    Somebody that has any ideas ???

    Here is a cheap degree wheel you can make. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...ht=degree+whee
    The first thing you need to do is have the bolt holes on the cam sprockets slotted so they can be adjusted. Weather you have shim over (gs) shim under, ball&rocker the degree procedure is the same

      Is there anybody that can tell what tool to use (guage)

      My guage is to fat to go beside the cam and down to the bucket 8O 8O 8O

      (just got a speed ticket, US $ 995.69)
      Driving to fast is expencive in Norway

            You need to get an extra long attachment for your dial indicator and maybe grind it flat so it will clear the lobe, we use to make them out of wheel spokes if we didn't want to wait for the machinists supply to order it in.
