    quick question, please...

went out to start my '82 GS450 and got just a click. Lights come on and there's a spark around the negative ground of the battery each time you press the start button. Lights on, click sound, spark from negative ground....any help?
    Thanks in advance.

CLICK USUALLY COMES FROM BAD CONNECTION OR LOW BATTERY. AND IF ITS A SPARK. SEEMS AS IF WIRE IS LOOSE ON THE BATTERY. CHECK THE CONNECTIONS

got the battery off....looks like only about half full of water, well below the low level mark. I'm off to wal-mart....thanks.

anytime you see a spark it means a loose wire
electricity is having to jump the gap to make a connection
new Battery and tight wires and you'll be good to go.
Check the connnectors on the ends of the wires that connect to the battery. They may need recrimped or replaced.

            Don't get a wal-mark battery!

            Ever-Start=Never Start!

            IMHO.

thanks for all the replies....got a new battery in place, getting power, but still no start. Maybe a fuel problem? The bike will turn over but will not start. This is unusual for this little GS as she has always been an instant starter. I've got a repair manual, just don't know where to start to troubleshoot this. Thanks in advance to everyone...just a newbie trying to keep it on the road as inexpensively as possible.
