What year is your 850? It could be the battery, if your battery isn't good, your bike probably won't run right. If you charge up your battery and it goes bad while riding you could have a charging problem. On the homepage, under "what to watch for" there is an article called the "stator pages" that covers how to check if your electrical system is working right.

When you charge your battery make sure its fully charged before you try working on your bike. If you need to put in a new fuse, make sure the new one is the right one, the right amperage.

It would be nice to know what the problem was and THE FIX.
This could help others down the road. Don't just delete, even if you aren't a "regular" here or don't plan to visit again.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

My guess is he probably had the kill switch in the off position, and might be a little embarrassed. You folks have been a great help to me in the past, my 81 GS 750E runs great now!
