    Which Engine

I have a really nice GSX750S2 Katana, I think. This is the one that looks like our 1000/1100 Kats but has a 16" front wheel and is a dark grey metallic colour, the seat is also in a shiny finish and not the suedette material.
Which model engine is fitted into this bike, I need to get a cam chain tensioner gasket for it as I have a slight oil leak.
I would also like to renew the clutch and accelerator cables, can anybody point me in the right direction to a reliable dealer.
Incidentally I am spraying the bike up over the winter to the proper silver colour and am having the seat recovered. I have also polished all the engine cases and hopefully the bike will be in immaculate condition come next spring.
    Thanks in anticipation.

I'm not certain I can help but that never stopped me before. In the U.S. the only Katana 750 that looked like the original 1000/1100 was the 1983 model and it came stock with a 19" front wheel. It used the 750 engine similar to the '80 thru '82 E models. It did have the smooth two tone seat. The suede was only available on our '82 1000. In many markets other than the U.S. there was an '83 Katana 750 with a flip up headlight. It had a 16" frt wheel and single shock rear suspension. It also shared many other components including the engine with the '83-'85 GS(X) 750E. Sounds like you have the original styled Katana that someone has modified with a 16" wheel. Don't suppose you could get us a picture?

I am certain the bike is standard, I think the bike you must have got in the States was the S1, which was identical in every way to the 1000/1100 Kats. I believe the S2 which I'm sure is mine is a Jap only model.
My friend had the pop-up model back in 1984, I owned the 1000 model at that time.
I have got some digital pictures, how do I post them.
      Thanks

Don't know how to post pictures on the forum but you could attach them to an e-mail to me. Maybe it is a home market model that I'm not aware of. I have seen pictures of Japanese market Katanas from the early nineties that looked identical to the original. I think they came in 250, 400 and either 1000 or 1100 sizes.
