Rebuilding rear shock
Has anyone on the list rebuilt a 1100GK rear shock? I've been looking for specs, info on it an haven't been able to find anything.Tags: None

I'm not familiar with the 1100GK shock, but I've talked with some of the co's. If the shock is welded together, as most stock shocks are, they're not rebuildable. I couldn't find anyone who would even talk about rebuilding a shock for my GS 1150.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. ZRX 1100

I've been looking for some specs on how much oil goes in the shock. The ones that I'm going to work on are the stock air shocks that were on the 1100GK models.
If I can't find any specs it looks like I might take the plunge and go into "uncharted territory". Wish me luck.

Shock places in Australia can rebuild most shocks, including welded up ones. They put better parts in, fit the right spring for your riding, which cost about A$250 all up at one place that did an ST1100 shock recently.
I think Dink recently had his 1150 shock rebuilt.
