    Changes On A Bike

I WILL SOON HAVE A 1980 GS750XL, THE DEALER I AM GETTING IT FROM SAYS THAT THERE ARE MANY VARIOUS MODELS OF THE BIKE AND INTERCHANGING PARTS CAN BE DIFFICULT. I WANT TO CHANGE IT FROM THE CRUISER L MODEL TO A SPORTER TYPE. I ALREADY HAVE AN E MODEL TAIL FENDER AND AFTERMARKET FRONT FAIRING. I AM CHANGING THE HANDLEBARS TO A LOW DRAG BIKE PAIR. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS.

The wheels, engine, brakes, and shocks are the same between the L's and E's
Suzuki changed the rear fender, seat, fuel tank, exaust, handle bars and most importantly, the front forks and tripple clamps to make the L models.

I was always under the impression that the frames were different from the "E"'s & "L"'s. Does anybody know for sure?

You made me curious so I stared at the 2 pictures I have for about 5 minutes. All I can see so far is differences where the rear pegs are and the tail where the signals and the 'E' model seat locks down. The 'L' models don"t have the crossover piece to lock the seat.Oh, the 'L' seems to sit lower, maybe just an illusion from the seat and bars.
