    New petcock..... :?

Hmmm so I got my new petcock from bike-bandit. I'm tired of playing with rebuilds and stuff, I just want it to work....period.

It looks super clean 8O almost worth the $80, only thing is the bronze fitting that the vacuum hose attatches to is pointing in a different direction than my other two petcocks :? Will this cause me problems or is it an improvement on the original design?

    Check it out:

    Thanks guys,

Remove it and rotate it 90 degrees.

Then it will line up. Someone probably put it together the wrong way

The way it ws made the fuel line ( I mean the Vacuum line) would be running into the tank. How bad would that suck?

I dunno guys check this out...here's the diagram of the petcock...it looks like the one I got in the mail.

I also opened it up and the vent hole in the diaphragm lines up to the one in the petcock housing.

No mystery. The smaller fitting (brass) is the vacuum, at the rear of the diaphragm.
Like Duaneage said, just rotate the rear around.

Yours does not look like the diagram. yours has four screws versus two.

Cmon, take a chance and loosen those babies and rotate that cover! You can do it!

The picture shows the FUEL LINE side!

Look at the VACUUM line side.

Send it to me, I'll turn it around for you

Yea I'm going to try it the way it is and see how it works...

Nay-sayers what do you predict will happen?, so I know what to look for.

Could be the tip will hit the tank or frame, or otherwise make it impossible to attach the lines. I had a similar issue with a petcock off a different model bike to mine. If thats the case you should find out just as you drop the tank on the frame

I don't think that's going to be a problem...We'll find out tommorow when I get a chance to slap it on there...

People seem to think that gas will come out of the vacuum..Funny because I think that was happening on my old one that was assembled the other way with the two connectes pointing at each other... We shall see.

Oh I also just discovered that one of the fuel screws on the set of carbs I was using had no o-ring  That couldn't have been good.
