The rotors seem to be exactly the same, the the master was changed a little, but work exactly the same. The "80" model master had a transparent, plastic, master cyl. reservoir, with 4 screws holding the lid on. I'm not sure what year they changed, but the later ones were all one piece aluminum with only 2 screws holding the lid on. I've never had one of the earlier ones leak, I have the original from my old "80" 1100 that was wrecked back in "83" or "84" on my "83" 1100 "E" right now, also was used on my "78" GS 1000 & my "79" GS 1000 "S". The newer ones seem to seep a tiny amount of fluid, just enough to blister the paint, at the point where the lid contacts the reservoir1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw.
