I haven't seen anyone using this and was just wondering if you guys would trust this hooked up to your ride to transport your baby. Basically how does you bike travel other then being ridden?

I have seen a bike being pulled with this type of unit, and all I could think of is "my God how could they do that to their bike!"

First of all, it would sit sideways at a stop. Not straight up and down.

Second, the forks were never designed to have a torsional load placed on them. This thing holds your 500 pound bike up by keeping the front wheel straight, while letting the bike waggle back and forth with every bump in the road. I can imagine that the forks were already trashed on that bike by how much left/right movement it had. The front wheel was rock solid in the hitch vice, but the motorcycle flopped about a foot to either side while they were driving! 8O

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. How could someone sell something like that to the public? I sincerely hope that the guy didn't ride the bike after he unloaded it, because it looked like an accident waiting to happen.

If so, DUDE look for a trailer. I just bought a used 5x12 landscape trailer for 250 bucks! Deals are out there, you just have to look for them. Besides, a trailer will let you do alot more things besides just haul a bike!

My bike weighs in at almost 600lbs, bone dry. Doesn't work for me. I put it in the pickup bed or use the trailer.

That is something that I wouldn't use to tow the bike for long distances. An enclosed trailer provides better protection from the elements and thieves.

I rented a motorcycle trailer from U-Haul, as a 1-day local rental, to pick up my bike 350 miles away. Total cost including insurance was $24.33. The trailer was designed specifically for motorcycles. It bounced a fair amount unloaded and rode better with 600# on it. At that rate, I'd not bother to buy any trailer unless I would be using it several times per year.

Yeah I don't like the idea of stressing the forks either that way... Why not something like this?
