Whatever you do, don't use helicoils - they create more problems than they solve - esp. on a sparkplug thread - I've seen too many helicoils come out when removing sparkplugs.

The permanent solution is a Timesert - there are similar items to the Timesert sold under different names.

Many of the drag racers put these into perfectly good cylinder heads as they provide such a good solution.

I was able to get the sparkplug in today. I cleaned a little around the whole with my finger and wd40, and coated the sparkplug in wd40. Kept trying... it took a few minutes but I got it to start in. But, i couldn't tighten it much with my hand after it hooked on. So, I took tool to it, and slowly did it with the use of some leverage. I made sure i wasn't forcing it (ie... paying close attention to pressure consistancy) and it eventually went in.

I took it for a ride on the wet december roads and it was great. I'm going through a hard time and the bike always puts me in a good mood.

Thanks for all of your help, I'm sure this thread will come in handy in the future. (for others)
