Air Box to Carb Connection

I received new intake boots from Bike Bandit & I would like to know what is height above the airbox to the face of the new boot dimension.

What bike do you have. And not really sure what you are trying to measure?

'81 GS850GL , I'm trying to install the boots into the airbox & I want to know how far into the airbox I set the boots so I can get the proper height above the box.

There should be grooves on the rubbers that engage the airbox and metal springs that go inside to keeo the shaoe of the boots.

I have the springs and know how they are installed I just need to know how far into the airbox these boots go I'm looking to set the height above the box.
