    tool for 16V valves ?

Ok my local Suzuki shop seemed lost when I asked for tool for adjusting
a 82 GS750 16V motor, they said K&L does not have one and that is the only place they get tools from ??
So does anyone have a source and part number ?

And is the valve adjustment a square head ?

I generally just use a very small set of vise grips to hold the screw while I tighten the locknut. The head is square. I believe Competition Accesories Warehouse may have the tool.

It's handy to have a factory square-head valve adjustment tool. It makes the job easier. The part number for my 1980 GS1100ET is 09917-14920, and your bike probably uses the same tool.

Ron Ayers Motorsports has them for $4.40. If interested, I suggest that you contact Ron Ayers first and confirm that this tool will also work for your bike.

Measuring the recess on my tool, it looks like 3 mm square (if you trust my eyes and tape measure).

It's 3mm. Good luck finding a box wrench, nut driver, socket, ANYTHING that small. I bought a pack of tiny ignition wrenches and melted down the smallest (4mm) and squeezed slightly in a vise until it fit sung on the tappet adjuster.

A 1/8" square drive wood screw will fit and by fitting a handle on the screw end it can be used as a substitute for the tool.

Try Dennis Kirk. Search for "Valve Adjustment Tool".

The Motion Pro set is worth the money, it is the best tool for the job I have seen.

The same tool is used for oil-cooled GSXR's, as well. So if you are having problems finding one for a GS, check on GSXR's.
