Okay to use old grease?

I don't mean used grease. I mean that I found an old tub of Slick 50 One Grease in a box in the corner. The lid was tight and the grease looks and smells normal.

Does grease degenerate over time?

Will it be okay to use this stuff?

Grease should be fine for 10 or so years at least, if it sealed up. Probobly even longer.

If it's truly sealed up well, and still has a "wet" feel to it, you should be fine. Greases have varying amounts of a solvent in them that can evaporate over time if not kept sealed. You can see it though when you open the container... it'll look dried out, will have cracks in the surface and will have a doughy consistency.
