Today I noticed that the muffler cover between the headers and pipe, on the gear shift side, vibrates for a short period between certain RPM's and when I let off the gas after a hard acceleration. I can't seem to find out what's really causing it. Anybody else had a similar problem?

The screw underneath that holds the muffler cover on could be broken.I had that happen to me last weekThe screw was there but it was loose,when I tried tightening it of course it broke off. -

use an easy out and replace screw.I also had an engine gaurd that was vibrating when I hit between 40 and 45 mph.It took me 3 months to find that one.I used a piece of tire tread between the frame and engine gaurd mount,no more vibs!!!You cant see the rubber piece either.Comment

on mine the mounting threads rusted out of the muffler and was rattling like he!!, I unscrewed it and removed the offending thread/nut piece, it seems fine on my 650 so far! course, I'll take any extra noise I can get...Comment
