    Hairline Crack in Exhaust Can

Hey guys, well I got my oil cooler all sealed up properly with teflon tape, replaced the o-ring on my oil filter cover (workin like a dream now)... just lookin for some advice on what to do about my exhaust. As you can see:

There is a small crack. Now I'm not worried too much about cosmetics, nothing a can of high-heat flat black paint can't cure. My question is, what is the best way of going about this so that it doesn't spread? Run a weld bead down it and sand it down a bit? Any sort of solution I can cobble together with that exhaust paste + exhaust tape then paint it over? Thanks!

Weld it, grind it and paint it. Can't go wrong. I would work up a good bead on it and smooth it out.

Yep, that's what I thought. Never had the can off... 4-1 pipes have no special seal around collector -> can?

Before you weld it, drill a small hole at each end of the crack. This will stop the fracture line from starting back up.
