    No Fuel

Back in record time with another problem (about 10minutes flat). I have everything hooked up and I am trying to start the long dormant motor. But there is no fuel getting to the engine. Everything else is find as far as I know.
    Thanks

Don't know what bike you have, but set the petcock to pri., this will let the fuel flow without the engine vacuum. after the bowls fill up, set it back to on

I assume that it does not matter how many times the valve screw is turned, because there are only two settings/

Sounds like you have an "80" model, with a screwdriver slot, instead of a lever on the petcock. Turn the screw slot to point to pri. loosen a float bowl plug, to see if bowl has fuel in it. If not, turn the screw slot a little more, till fuel flows. When bowls have time to fill, turn slot back to on.

Yeah I think I have a bad petcock I removed the tank and the petcock to try and clean it then put it back on the tank and then try turning it and nothing came out. It is most likely broken unless any of you have a miracle fix up your sleeve. Thanks for all the help

Does anyone know where I can get one for very very low price or have any info on rebuilding them? I am working on a budget of about nothing since I am in college right now. Thanks again

              80 Petcock

To test your petcock you have to apply vaccum to the hose that goes into the front of the carbs, the one you can reach. I check mine by sucking on the hose, if you are on prime the gas will flow, if you are on run the gas will stop flowing when vaccum is removed. To start my bike after working on the carbs I suck on the vaccum line for a couple of minutes to fill the bowls and then it starts. Slot is across when on run and up and down when on prime. These petcocks are junk so buy one or replace it with a Pingel. Check out Georgefix on ebay. He carries the 1980 version petcock.

So then you are getting gas to your carb bowls?
