    I've been waiting but

Well, I didn't want to start a new thread, but I guess I will.
    1. Will using a K&N pod increase dramatically intake noise?
    2. Has anyone found a replacement for the rear shock on the full floater rear ends?
I was hoping someone else would ask these questions, but I guess my youth has made me impatient. No wait I forgot I'm now, MIDDLE AGED, aaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh!

Funny you should ask;;; Years ago, I didn't want K & N's at all, because I'd ridden other people's bikes that had them, and I hated the slurping noise. Last year I was purchasing a GS 1150, and complained to the seller that I hated the slurpy sound of the K & N's. He said that he didn't know what I was talking about. He cranked it up and I rode it down the street, and surprise, surprise, no slurping. Don't know why, but no slurp. Since then, I've baught another 1150. It also has K & N's and stock exaust, but still no slurp. Go figure

'86 and '87 GSX-Rs have the same type ends on the shock. The spring rate would probably be too light, but adjusting preload should take care of that. Not sure of the length on them from eye to eye though.

As for the intake noise, years ago when I was still running the stock CVs I didn't notice much difference, just a little more howl under acceleration. When I switched to Mikuni RS flatslides there was a huge difference intake noise. You can actually here the slides clatter a bit at idle on top of much more howl on the throttle.

Thanks for the feedback. I do searches, and end up with hundreds of posts to sort through and usually they don't specifically have the information I am after. I must not be using the correct key words and limiters.
