charging system
Just bought an 81 gs750e and the charging system doesn't work. I found a 81 gs750L for sale as a parts bike. Will the stator and rectifier work on my bike?Tags: None

Be advised that most riders would replace these parts with aftermarket items. They are far more reliable. I've never had a charging problem, but hopefully others will confirm what I say.

I'd say it makes much more sense to buy a new aftermarket r/r and stator, then an old, original charging system. Who knows how long that would even last. If it's a parts bike, does it run? You should test the charging system on a running bike.
Keep in mind that 9 times out of 10 the real cause of a stator or r/r failure is bad connections to them. So even if you replace the components, make sure you clean and check every connector, ground and wire for corrosion, burning or breaks.Currently bikeless

I ride, therefore I am.... constantly buying new tires.
