    1983 gs 750 t torque specs

    Hi iam looking for all the head bolts and valve cover torque specs.Been looking for a book but no luck and got out bid on one on ebay.Please help thanks ....

    This is for an '85 700 but yours should be about the same. 26-29 lb-ft is what the manual calls for on the nuts that hold the head down. If there is a small bolt at the front of the head torque it to 6-8.5 lb-ft. As for the valve cover just tighten it down until the cover snugs up, about 9-10 lb-ft. The head has to be tightened down in a certain order. Pretend the top line that follows is the exhaust side of the head and the lower line is intake. This is assuming you do have 12 nuts holding the head down. The number on the left is the left side of the engine. Tighten it down in increments starting with about 12 lb-ft and graduate up so it takes about 3 or 4 rotations to get it tightened. You may already know this but you would be surprised how many don't.
