A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anyone out there know the part # for the gaskets/seal on either side of the airbox? They go underneath the side covers. Are they part of the airbox and not available separately?

A friend of mine has a problem, they are so bad, they don't seal anymore. I hear the stock airbox on the 850 has to be sealed pretty good for the engine to run...

Do not know the part number, but check Bike Bandit. I have bought a lot of parts for my 850 from them. Decent prices and good service. http://bikebandit.com/

I tried to get them @ Suzuki dealer. They showed me the parts blowup. Not a separate part. I'm in same boat. May rig something up from dead bodies or the like.

I was thinking the same thing. Have to go to the boneyard and try to find some good ones. Luckily there is a place sort of locally... www.sportwheel.com

It's the part behind the caps (chrome) glued to the airbox, #7 & #8

You can try doing what several of us have to replace these gaskets: make your own from weatherstripping or a good dense computer mouse pad. I used a mouse pad and a bit of contact cement, and it works as well as the originals. The price is right, too. ;-)

Hmmm, no new part available.

Seems like Black Duct Tape would be the cheap route... 8-[

Mouse pad? Weatherstripping sounds like the ticket.

sticky foam weatherstrip or a mouse pad cut to fit works just fine.
originally they came glued to the chrome covers.

Make sure you look at the condition of the foam on the top of the air filter (as it is placed in the airbox) as this also gets ripped/degrades after a couple of cleanings. 3/8 -5/16 weather stripping works great.

I'm with Jay. When I replaced the air filter I weather stripped the top and end caps at the same time with 1/2 weather strip. Worked great and bike runs great.
