    What is the diameter of the engine case savers on a 1980 GS1100L? I want to purchase some highway pegs but they are offered in one inch and one and a quarter inch.
    1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
    1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

      I suspect it would depend on the brand of case savers. Mine are probably inch, I know they are very small (750L) My cousin had big thick bars on his 850. Seems likely that you will have to measure.

        Stock

        I have just stock. They are oval and measure one inch and a quarter accross the top and one inch up and down. That's why I'm confused.

          I guess you would mount them to the vertical section that is one inch. I found a pair in a motorcycle graveyard while looking for a signal light.:-D Never thought to measure before hand, so I lucked out.

            They are 1 inch.I bought a pair that had an adapter to go either way.Look around,thier are plenty to choose from.
