GS1100E Clutch Thrust Bearing

Thanks Jeff for the info and the update.
I just so happen to have my clutch out of my 83 1100E and you and the others have answered a lot of the questions that were floating around my brain.
I only had the noise when set at a low idle.
I plan on going the new friction plates,springs and thrust washer.Also a new nut and lock washer
Possibly I may call Falicon.

I have a CB (clutch basket) question.

If I am at an idle with the clutch out and in neutral,,, bike is quiet as a mouse.

If I go to take off, I hear a rattle at first I thought detonation because even if was cruising warm or cold I could crank it and seem to get a rattle... So I threw in a good source of 100 octane and no change.



I went for a ride last night and if I am crawling at say 25 and I throw it in 4th.... and pull the clutch release level half way so it is partially in the friction zone, it the thing will clink like a mother.
