1980 GS550E would not start in the cold, but.....

Ok the project continues. Have posted here numerous time and have gotten a ton of help. Thank you!

    New question.

Below 60F. slight burp at first crank, then nothing.
    Over 60F. Fires right up...

    What is going on?

There is a known leak at intake. Other than that, getting there.

    Thanks

For one thing the intake leak isn't helping. It kind of cancels out some of the choke circuit. You likely have dirty pilot circuits.

DIRTY PILOT CIRCUITS? What are those and how do I clean them? Thanks -

Oh yeah - Where can I get O-rings (not too picky as long as they work) to fit between engine and carb hoses.

macmatic sells the orings for the engine to carb side, robert barr sells the carb rebuild orings (cycleorings.com)

good luck, I have the same problem for years now, I have to use just a shot of ether to get it fired most days... at least my airbox just has sliders.
