Can anyone tell what would cause "whiny drive shaft) 82 gs1100, also what are these bikes worth??

If the noise is comming from the engine side of the drive shaft I would suspect the bearing on the secondary gear set

I'm not even going to say it!

Probably a bad bearing somewhere. Are you low on oil somewhere?

It appears to be on the drive shaft side of engine. Does anyone know how tough it is to replace it? I just dropped 400.00 on repairs so $$tight$$. A mechanic put a shimm in but still making noisy. I should get a schematic I guess to see how to remove the bearing.
As far as 623 for a gs100, good job, someone must have had to sell. I thought they would be 1500-1800, in good condition.

            the fluids are ok also.
            Thank all!!
