Aftermarket Carbs Carburators Carb - Suggestion

Sorry about the title. Trying to help future searches.

QUESTION - Has anyone mounted after market carbs to there suzukis and if so provide as much info as you feel like doing?

Thanks in advance. I want to send my motor to cycle specialists in Newport News and have Larry McBride's shop rebuild it but since I am a dealer I am responsible for ordering my own parts. The old slide carbs are to hard to sync, fuel/air mix, and I am a firm believer in mixing old with new for reliability purposes. I look forward to your responses.

I haven't done it personally but I know that many have done that with the GS's, mostly the 1000, 1100 and 1150's. Mikuni RS flatslides are the way to go for street. The slingshot carbs from the old oil-cooled GSXR's will also fit but are harder to dial in correctly compared with the RS's. Check out sudco for the RS's. Last I looked they were in the $600-750 range. You'll also need to figure out what size you need. Do a search - you should turn up a ton of threads. If you don't, try posting in the performance section.

Thanks Jiggles. I will search for RS Flatsides on the forum technical section.

Also check out gszone.biz. (site for GS1100/1150's) They have Mikuni RS's for 715.00 a set. Order them for your bike and they come pre-spaced. I put a set of smoothbores on my 81 750EX and...YIKES!! Scared the snot out of me the first time I jumped on it after the install.

        Good luck.

Me: Hey Dan-O. Just wanted to say howdy & love ya!

Dan-O: Howdy and Love you too. Doing good, feeling good.

Me: Give 'em hell, Little Bro!

        Dan-O: Roger that!

I have some GSXR carbs on mine and they work better than the stockers but I don't have any time slips to back that up yet. Still playing with the jetting too.
