Sometimes the top end problem can be related to the fuel petcock not opening all way due to a cracked or deteriorated vacuum hose. Save yourself some trouble and check it or just replace it (it's old) before you put the tank back on. Also sometimes you can have a kink in the fuel line, check that also while it's still easy. If you're going to replace it with some of the new line you bought don't make it too long, that's usually why it kinks. It's also been advised to remove or shorten the float bowl vent hoses if you're using pods. They're the two that come out the top from between the carbs, not the four on the bottom, they're the float bowl overflow tubes.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM) My Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/soates50/

Check the easy stuff first. I find it reduces my time in the idiot box. (Reduces, not eliminates)

My vent tubes haven't been shorted, or removed, and it runs great with pods (K&N's). Just a reference point.

I replaced my petcock with a pingel (non vacuum) so that eliminated that. I also removed the vent hoses as well. Hopefully this will fix it, we shall find out.

Alrighty, got the carbs all sync'd up and took it for a spin, it is definatly a whole 'nother bike bike now LOL.
My brick wall has "softened" so to speak. It still feels as though it is struggling above 7000 but it will now pull to redline....just kinda slow. Seeing as how I have gone through just about everything I think one can go through to solve it, am I just looking at some tweaking of the main jets?
Thanks again for the assistance.

This sounds like my issue as well at high load/speed
