Recommendations for flywheel holding tool?

The pins in my motionpro clutch/flywheel holding tool do not work on older style rotors like the GS1100's (newer ones have the stator between the engine and rotor).

I'm not sure if one of those generic K&L flywheel holding tools will work on a GS1100...

Get an old clutch plate and weld a handle on it.

Er... how does that work with the rotor on the end of the crank? I'm confused...

The crank is geared direct to the clutch

You can cut 2 C- clamps in half and bolt them to a piece of angle iron. Remove the ends on the threaded side of clamp to fit in the holes on the outside of the rotor. Make sure not to insert the clamp threads in too far and risk damaging the magnets.

I used a piece of angle iron long enough to touch the ground so when cranking on the nut, I could use more leverage.
