Most efficient spark around 25 thou...............the same with pretty much every spark plug on the planet. Gap increases over time as the electrodes wear, which puts a greater load on the electrical system as the spark tries to jump a bigger gap.

My Clymer manual specifies 0.6-0.8 mm gap, which translates to 0.024 to 0.031 in. This particular book covers 850-1100 shaft drive models from 1979-1984, and only gives this one specification for all models.
