Just bought a GS750E -79. First drive ok, about 130km no problem. On the second drive, after about 20km, when driving, My bike dies at a redlight. No idle, and when I throttle fast the bike studders and the engine dies.
If I rev up nice and slooooow, its allright...
My thought is that the bike gets to much air. Four conical airfilters are fitted, by a shop prior to my purchase.
Service performed:
1. Checked the petcock - OK.
2. Disasembled carbs and cleaned them the best I could. One floater had a small scrath on it.
3. Checked the sparks - the two plugs at the center cylinders looked like they were running hot, the other two fine.
4. Changed motor oil, and filter.
5. Re-asembled the carbs, flooded them and fired her up. Same thing...
Killed the switch, screwed the airscrew at each of the four carbs 360 degrees clock-wise to give the carbs less air. They are now almost fully screwed in.
Screwed the idle-knob(?) so the engine doesn´t die at idle. - Fired her up again.
This time the problem was the same, but it was less bluddering/studdering than before, but still totaly unacceptable.
My questions are:
1. How do I know that the individual carbs are correctly tuned in with the air-screw?
2. How do I prevent the bike to get so much air with these screwes almost bottomed?
3. The initial problem occured when driving so I do not understand what is wrong... Please help me obe wan kenobi!
