    Shorty turn signals flasher unit

    Greetings,
putting my 78 550 back on the road, used the search feature about short turn signals unsure what type of flasher unit to to use with the short stalks 111.
bought the 78 new a little over 3000 miles.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I put THESE on my bike a while back and didn't change the flasher relay. It's the 26 year old stock unit too. Everything went easy and works great.

If your new signals won't flash, get a round automotive flasher. They are 3 or 4 bucks.

They are bulb lights. They are not DOT approved because of the small size of the lens, but the lights are bright and who cares anyway. I always use my signal lights as well as hand signals when turning. They come with an extra wire to work as running lights as well as turn signals, but I hooked them up so they only light up when the signal is switched on.

            thanks

I was just wondering as the leds require different flasher unit to work correctly.. ( less current flow).. I am concidering moving to some led turn lights in a clear lens (red/ amber leds) or a red/amber lens with superbright white leds. the current flow is the only issue I have yet to fully figure out..

Go to the auto parts place and get an electronic flasher unit. They come in all the popular pinouts and they work whether there's a load or not. They're a little bigger so you'll have to attach it somehow (I used zip ties). They are 7-12 bucks IIRC......
