What tanks fit on a 1981 gs 850gl?

Are they any other gas tanks that will fit my 1981 gs 850gl? i need to have a big tank for long mileage. How about a gs 1000 or 1100? If so what models? Help appreciated.

I have got the 1980 L model, which has the small 3.3gallon (13L) teardrop tank. I was actually looking for a bigger tank, and apparently the L and G models aren't interchangeable.


Maybe we could swap ours? However, they did make model changes from 80-81, so maybe not? Why dont you measure the distance from your 2 mounting slips at the front, to the bolt hole, and i'll see if they match.

clarification

I have a g tank, that has a few dents in it (ONE PRETTY BIG ONE) that I would like to replace. Does anyone know if a tank from a 1100 will fit it?
