    Changing spark plug wires

Is there a way to change spark plug wires on coils that have permanent wires?

I thought Keith did a procedure on this a couple years ago but I can't find it. WAS THAT YOU KEITH?

I pulled them out on my '83 GS750ES. The plastic fittings broke. I got new wires and carefully inserted them so the center would contact the pin in the bottom of the coil hole. Then took some silicone sealant and sealed them up. They've been in there a year or so and no problems. Make sure the wires and coils and the new boots have the correct spec for ohms.

Thanks for the reply. I was a little worried about messing with coils. Costly to replace. I once owned a 82-83 Yamaha 400 Maxim and it would hardly start. The starter button would turn the motor over and over but would hardlly fire untill you let go of the starter button. Once I changed the wires it was like new,you barely had to touch the starter button and would fire right up. This is such a cool place to be!!
