Finaly found the problem after dismantling the carb for the 6th time.
The idle needles were not in the right position but what realy caused the problem was the contact point gap. I had replaced the contact points a month ago without setting this to the correct distance. After this change teh engine started fine and both sparkplugs were greyisch, from which I drew the wrong conclusion that teh ignition was correct.
A week ago I found out that one cillender was misfiring and soaked with petrol. With the correct gap the problem is gone. I should have read more careful through the manual which says before suspecting the carb first check the ignition and the valves. most "carb' problems turn out to be other problems.

Glad to see you figured it out. And we all assumed carburation.
