    Question when doing head gasket..

When I do my head gasket within the next couple weeks, I plan on draining the oil and changing the filter.
I was thinking off leaving the engine without oil, in case I want to do clutch inspection, or .....
My question is, when I drain the oil, will the engine have enough protection, so when I pull off the head and all, I won't be getting any rust internally??
I do live about a mile from the ocean and will be doing the work inside a garage.
    Thanks.

Had mine apart for 4 months (Feb-May) in a cold garage by the sea here in England. None of it went rusty.
As you are taking the head and clutch out I really wouldn't worry about it for a short period.
