    sh-232 wiring question

    hello,
I know this is a covered topic, however (not but). My 81 450t has one of the stator wires w/g going to the headlight circuit. All directions for wiring the SH-232 say connect all three yellow wires to the stator.
what do with the w/g wire not connected to stator now?

Just block it off with a twist cap or tape and tuck it out of the way, than forget about it.

Those wires run up to the headlight on/off switch. The switch cuts continuity between the two wires. They are not needed and you can ignore them, but they came in handy for me.
I rewired my headlight to use relays and power direct from the battery. Because my 79 actually had a functional on off switch, I used those wires to act as the on off switch for the headlight on/off relay I put in down near the battery. Because of the location it was great. (the high/low relay is up in the headlight bucket). Worked pretty slick and I have a nice bright light!

While you were at it, did you add the starter inhibit circuit to the headlight relay? When the starter is engaged, the headlight goes off.

I thought about this, but never bothered. If my battery is too low I can just switch the headlight off.
