GS1000E forks on GS850G?

I've got a line on a set of forks from a 1980 GS1000E forks and was wondering if these will bolt right up to my '79 GS850G? They share the same frame don't they?

The inner fork tubes on a 850 are 37 MM. If that's what the 1100 uses, they should fit. The other issue is the front brake caliper mounts.

if it's the same year, should be no difference

Thanks for the info. I think it will bolt right up no problem. The only weirdness would be if the forks came from a 1000L because that model had a leading axel design.
